1. Who we are
BAS Events (“BAS”, “we”, “us”) is based in Iraq and runs the BAS Events app, which lists public events across the country. BAS Events is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at any time at info@bas-iq.com.
2. The short version
- You can browse events without an account.
- If you sign in, we keep your email address and display name so you can save events, mark that you are going, comment, report content and submit events.
- Events you submit and comments you post are public.
- We do not ask for your device’s location. You choose your home city yourself.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
- You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
3. Information you give us

Signing in is optional. You only need an account for the actions listed above.
4. Information collected automatically
When the app talks to our servers, our systems record limited technical information, such as your IP address, the time of the request, and basic device and app version details. We use it only to run the service, keep it secure, and prevent spam and abuse.
5. What we do not collect
- Your device’s location. The map shows where events are, not where you are.
- Your contacts, photo library (beyond the images you choose to upload), or browsing history.
- Payment details. BAS does not sell tickets or take payments.
- Advertising identifiers. BAS contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking tools.
6. How we use it
- To run the app: show events, remember your saved events and settings, and publish approved events.
- To sign you in and protect your account.
- To review submitted events before they appear, and to handle reports.
- To keep BAS safe from spam, fraud and abuse.
- To reply when you contact us.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
7. What other people can see
Approved events are public, including the details and images you submitted. Comments are public and are shown with your display name. Please do not include personal information in an event or comment that you would not want everyone to see.
On the map, some events are pinned at their exact venue. Events submitted with only a city are grouped around that city’s location.
8. Who we share it with
We share data only with the companies that help us run BAS, and only as much as they need:
- Sign-in providers — Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them, and the email service that delivers your sign-in links.
- Hosting and storage — the providers that host our servers, database and uploaded images.
- Map provider — the service that draws the map. It sees which area of the map is being viewed, not who you are.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm. If you tap a link that leaves BAS — for example to get directions or to visit an organizer’s page — that service’s own privacy policy applies.
9. Reporting and blocking
When you report an event or a comment, we receive the report and the content it points to, and our team reviews it. When you block someone, we store that choice so their comments stay hidden from you.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account and profile data and your personal activity in the app are removed. Events you submitted that were already approved may stay published as public event listings, with your identity removed from them.
We may keep a limited amount of information for longer when we need it for security or to meet a legal obligation.
11. Deleting your account
In the app, go to Account → Delete account, enter your account email, and confirm. Your account is deleted straight away. See the account deletion page for exactly what is removed, and what to do if you can no longer use the app.
12. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@bas-iq.com from the address on your account. We will not charge you for this.
13. Security
Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections, and access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to run BAS. No system is perfectly secure. If you think someone else has accessed your account, contact us straight away.
14. Children
BAS Events is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Where data is processed
Some of the companies that help us run BAS may store or process data outside Iraq. We work with providers that protect that data appropriately.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
